Ray Shine - Managing Editor
POA Journal Managing Editor Ray Shine leaves no stone unturned when validating the content of the paper. Ray has been the editor since June of 1997, and served as the elected representative to the POA Board of Directors from the Traffic Company between 1989 and 1997.
Ray retired from the San Francisco Police Department after serving the City and County for more than 32 years. He patrolled Ingleside and Northern Districts before transferring to the Traffic Company in 1980, where he spent 19 years detailed to Traffic Enforcement in the two-wheel motorcycle unit. In October of 1999, he was promoted and served as the Staff Sergeant to the Captain of Traffic until his retirement in July of 2003.
Mike Popoff - Advertising Coordinator
Advertising Coordinator Michael Popoff has an extensive background in sales. While he has never served as a police officer, he is a native San Franciscan who is known and respected by many active and retired San Francisco police officers. Michael Popoff is the only non-member authorized to act as our agent for advertising in the POA Journal and/or the POA web site.
Nicholas Shihadeh - Sports Editor
Nick has served as the Sports Editor for more than a decade. He is an avid sports buff, and has also served as the SFPD Softball Commissioner. A native San Franciscan, Nick is currently assigned to to the Police Range. He has also served at Northern Station, and is a sharpshooter on the SFPD Specialist Team.
Nick concerns himself with all aspects of POA sports, and serves as the Chair of the recently formed POA Sports Hall of Fame.
